Young Management & Consulting is looking for an intern to support our team. This position will provide support and assistance to our current Engineering, Technology, Project Management or Construction Management team to help accomplish goals and work towards our strategic vision and initiatives. Young Management & Consulting is looking to fill intern roles in a variety of disciplines (electrical, civil, mechanical, etc.)
Internship Duties:
Become familiar with YMC safety policies and provide insights to our continuous safety improvement plans such as (site/office safety, personal protection equipment & safety, etc.)
Become familiar with and integrate with company culture
Become familiar with project management terminology
Assist with responses to general questions and/request from the internal team as well as clients with supervisor permission.
Provide assistance in the reading/marking of drawing prints.
Participate in continuous project improvement efforts by collecting and analyzing data throughout the project.
Work with project teams to research solutions to project concerns; analyze and recommend solutions to problems.
Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
Assist with technical portions of RFP’s and RFI’s pertaining to project work.
Assist with various back office tasks including but not limited to filing, scanning, data entry, documentation, Power Point presentation.
Become familiar with other job roles around Young Management & Consulting
Attend internship meetings with internship leads as required
Qualifications
Pursuit of bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering, Technology, PMP from an accredited program
Currently enrolled, and in good standing, in a post-secondary education and/or technical certificate program in a field related to the work done in the department.
Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
Actively involved in campus, community or other volunteer activities or organizations preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs, including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Demonstrated leadership skills.
Self-motivated and eager learner, aptitude to grow and develop within the field.
