Research Assistant in Systems Neuroscience Lab
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to work as a research assistant in a neuroscience lab at UT Southwestern in Dallas, Texas. Our lab focuses on understanding how neural circuits in the brain mediate animal behaviors at molecular, cellular, and systems levels. We are particularly interested in answering questions such as how learning occurs and how motivation influences behavior. We take a multidisciplinary approach that includes neural recordings, optogenetic manipulations, genetic engineering, and computational analysis. Your responsibilities include assisting with experiments and maintaining common lab functions. An ideal candidate possesses a background in one of the following fields; biology, electrical engineering, or computer science; but all motivated individuals are welcome to apply. This position provides you with an opportunity to be involved with primary research. It is therefore ideal for you if you are considering pursuing PhD and/or MD in biomedical or bioengineering fields.
To apply, please provide a CV with GPAs, a cover letter describing your research experience and career goal, and contact information for at least 2 references.
