INNOVATION IN CANCER PREVENTION RESEARCH PROJECTS FOR UNDERGRADUATES JUNE 2 - AUGUST 8, 2025

Program Requirements and Key Elements:

  • Projects must have a cancer prevention focus
  • Projects can be virtual, in-person, or hybrid
  • Unlike hiring a GRA this is a chance to extend a project in a novel direction
  • A co-authored paper is a highly desirable goal
  • $6,000 stipend for 10-weeks, full-time
  • Trainees must reside in Texas 
  • Mentors select trainees after interviews
  • Trainees spend 2-4 hrs/week for cancer prevention seminars and training in evidence-based tools to increase creativity, elevator speeches, and posters
