HSE Engineer
Provides support for the ongoing compliance with environmental and safety regulations. Ensures that all control, monitoring, recordkeeping, and reporting requirements related to areas of responsibility are satisfied.
- Interacts and works with the site Operations organization. Develops and maintains good communication, presentation and interpersonal skills that help Operations and other functional groups implement environmental and safety programs achieving operational flexibility while ensuring ongoing compliance.
- Develops and maintains recordkeeping systems to sustainably demonstrate compliance with assigned environmental permits/regulations/programs.
- Monitors and analyzes environmental operational data to ensure compliance which includes auditing and sampling. Uses information to identify opportunities to improve performance.
- Coordinates and manages engineering and compliance testing of control equipment, including preparing tests protocols and work plans.
- Manages/Supports capital projects as they relate to HSE.
- Assists site personnel with the implementation and ongoing compliance of site and corporate safety policies.
- Maintains and oversees updates as need to site plans such as Emergency Action Plan (ERAP), Facility Response Plan (FRP), Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) and Risk Management Plan (RMP).
- Develops and delivers training to the site for safety issues. Develops training materials pertaining to safety issues as required by the site. Provides the training materials to the parties responsible for delivering site training or may deliver the training directly to the site employees.
- Supports Turnaround planning and execution.
This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher degree) in Engineering required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Civil, Agriculture, or Bio Systems Engineering preferred.
- Two years of experience in environmental/safety compliance or similar role required.
- Experience in the area of industry, energy or manufacturing required.
- Able and willing to work on-site and in-person, required.
Position level and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
