Biostatistician
ABOUT THE POSITION
The JPS Center for Epidemiology & Healthcare Delivery Research (CEHDR) invites applications for an institutionally-funded Biostatistician position. CEHDR is a multidisciplinary research group embedded within a safety-net health system. CEHDR investigators conduct research that provides actionable insight for improving healthcare delivery, optimizing patient outcomes, and advancing health equity at JPS Health Network and beyond. Our research is organized in three core programs: health services research, implementation research, and outcomes research.
The position will support researchers, healthcare providers, and operational teams to conduct health outcomes, health services, and implementation research. We encourage applications from candidates with expertise or interest in applying experimental and observational methods for causal inference and predictive analytics to generate evidence that informs care decisions. Key responsibilities include:
- Interfacing with informatics experts to create and manage databases derived primarily from routinely collected healthcare data (e.g., electronic health records and claims data)
- Developing and implementing analysis plans for experimental, quasi-experimental, and observational study designs
- Preparing detailed descriptions of analyses and findings for manuscripts and internal reports
- Ensuring integrity, reliability, and reproducibility of data and analysis
- Actively seeking new knowledge of methods for data management and analysis

QUALIFICATIONS AND HOW TO APPLY
Completed graduate training (MPH, MS, MSPH) in biostatistics or a related field is required. Strong interpersonal and project management skills are highly valued.
