In Medtronic’s Surgical Operating Unit, we are committed to forging new paths and partnerships that help healthcare systems improve clinical outcomes, expand access to care, and optimize operational efficiencies. The Surgical Sales internship will consist of two components: an 11-week summer program focused on clinical sales training and customer support, followed by five hours per week of continued learning and customer support throughout the following academic year. Successful interns will be considered for full-time Surgical Hybrid Sales roles upon graduation.
A Day in the Life
As a Surgical Sales Intern, you will be responsible for achieving key goals throughout the summer and academic year portions of your internship. During the summer, you will focus on clinical, product and sales training followed by a combination of remote and in-person customer support under the guidance of a field-based Medtronic Sales mentor. During the academic year, you will work five hours per week—dedicating one hour to continued training and the remaining four hours to remote customer support. Upon successful completion, you will be well positioned for a career as a Surgical Hybrid Sales professional with a global leader in MedTech.
Must Have Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in science or business, with an expected graduation date of Spring 2026
Availability to work full-time (40 hours/week) during a 10–11-week summer internship (June 2 – August 15)
Availability to work 5 hours a week during the school year
Must reside near a major metropolitan area such as Houston, New York, San Antonio, Austin, Phoenix, Philadelphia, Oklahoma City, Tampa, Orlando, Indianapolis, or Atlanta
Reliable personal transportation for field-based customer support work
Legally authorized to work full-time in the U.S. The Medtronic Summer Internship Program does not provide work authorization sponsorship for summer intern positions. Individuals with temporary visas such as E, F-1, H-1, H-2, L, B, J or TN, or who need sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future, are not eligible for the Medtronic Summer Internship Program.
Nice to Haves:
Cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher (on a 4.0 scale)
Strong learning agility, with excellent communication and presentation skills
Proven initiative and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Demonstrated leadership experience through volunteer work, employment, or student organizations
Experience working in a team environment
Relevant coursework or experience in the healthcare or sales sector

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$23.50
The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
