Field Service Engineer

Position Summary:
The Field Service Engineer role is a foundational engineering position within our Service Engineering team. This role is pivotal in conducting serviceability and reliability assessments, crafting comprehensive service documentation, and providing advanced troubleshooting and technical support with a specialized focus on select products. Additionally, the incumbent will deliver preliminary training to our technical support staff and service educators.
What You'll Do:
- Participate in the new product development process assuring that all Service requirements are completed prior to product release. Requirements include: Design reviews for serviceability/reliability, service plan generation, service documentation and procedure development, defining service parts, outlining service training and tracking equipment performance.
- Create, review and update technical documentation including; IQOQ documentation, Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), service and maintenance manuals, field servicing procedures, etc.
- Act as an escalation point for resolution of technical issues on given product assignment. Provide onsite technical support, as necessary.
- Troubleshoot and analyze technical problems. Collaborate cross-functionally with current products engineering, quality, supply chain, research and development, etc. to resolve immediate issues and implement changes to prevent future problems.
- Identify and implement service operational improvement ideas for assigned product responsibilities.
- Perform service and maintenance training on assigned products to technical support personnel, field service representatives, and customers.
- Develop service kits and qualify service replacement parts.
What You Need To Be Successful:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with focus on either Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science is required.
- Minimum of one year experience in the service and repair of both electronic and electromechanical equipment is required.
- Experience with PLC, Ladder Logic, Allen Bradley/Siemens Software is highly preferred.
- Strong organization, problem solving, planning and analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with all levels of employees, as well as customers and other external contacts.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
