Aerospace Engineer Intern
Corvid Technologies is seeking qualified candidates for an internship working with our aerospace group. The Aerospace Group supports a variety of commercial (NASCAR, IndyCar) and government (Missile Defense Agency, Navy Missile Defense) programs through the application of Computational Fluid Dynamics. Corvid provides a virtual design environment where high-fidelity models are used to analyze engineering systems prior to build and test using our proprietary software, RavenCFD.
Qualifications
- Strong background in fluid dynamics with experience across all Mach regimes (low-subsonic to hypersonic)
- Strong background in Applied CFD methods
- Working knowledge of static and dynamic stability and flight dynamics modeling
- Knowledge of CAD modeling, TAOS (or other 6-DoF) software, Pointwise software, and GNC
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S Security Clearance
Responsibilities
- Grid generation and development on complex internal/external geometries
- Development and execution of CFD solutions and application of the results to systems of interest
- Day-to-day informal and formal report generation
Why Corvid
Founded in 2004, we are a group of over 300 engineers and scientists, about three-quarters with Master’s degrees or PhDs, that provide end-to-end solutions, including concept development, design and optimization, prototype build, test, and manufacture. We leverage the predictive capability of our high-fidelity computational physics solvers, indigenous massively parallel supercomputer system, prototyping plant, and ballistics and mechanics lab to investigate a variety of high-rate physics phenomena.
The results are complex engineering solutions for a variety of applications: aircraft, ballistic missile defense, cybersecurity, motorsports, armor development, biological systems, and missile and warhead design and development. These results are achieved with optimal design and cost efficiency due to the predictive capability of Corvid’s tools and our in-house, end-to-end integrated approach, which differentiates Corvid from the market.
