Engineering Intern or Co-Op

Our office in metro Atlanta, GA is searching for Engineering students to either Intern or Co-Op following the Fall and Winter semesters. Electrical or Computer Engineering disciplines are preferred but not required. Successful candidate will receive training in several areas of Electrical Engineering and Industrial software and participate on project teams with a focus on automation and/or power distribution and protection. Requirements:

Student completed at least 3 semesters of college education and started core Engineering classes prior to starting Internship / Co-Op. No industrial experience is required.

Responsibilities:

*NOTE- Responsibilities listed below are subject to project availability and experience level of candidate.

  • Complete Mangan basic internal training for various tasks (PLC programming, HMI programming, Project design documentation, etc.)
  • Accept coaching and mentoring from experienced Engineers
  • Participate in the development of design documentation such as I/O Layouts, Logic Diagrams, Cause & Effect Matrices, Functional Specifications, and Control Narratives.
  • Participate in the development and/or review of control panel design packages, field wiring diagrams, conduit & cable schedules, P&IDs, ISA tagging conventions, and associated E&I package deliverables
  • Learn to use industrial software for:
    • PLC, DCS, and HMI programming
    • Electrical design- AutoCAD
    • Electrical protection and modeling- ETAP, Easy Power, etc.
    • Electrical protection relay configuration
    • Communication protocols; Modbus, Ethernet/IP, OPC, DeviceNet, Profibus, MQTT
    • Historian, Flow Computer, and external notification systems
