BioHorizons Engineering Co-op
BioHorizons is dedicated to developing evidence-based and scientifically proven dental implant products. From the launch of the External implant system (Maestro) in 1997 to our latest innovations in implant design, dental professionals as well as patients have confidence in our comprehensive portfolio of dental implants, surgical instruments, restorative components, and biologics products.
As a part of our Engineering Research & Development Department, co-ops work alongside engineers developing and maintaining dental medical device product designs and drawings using SolidWorks and interface with other departments seeking design change approvals. Additionally, co-ops will develop test plans and reports to support engineering design verification and validation activities. At the completion of the final co-op term, students will have a great understanding of a medical device company drawing system, manufacturing processes, configuration control, product design, regulatory requirements and interdepartmental teamwork.
As a part of our Regulatory Affairs Department, co-ops support ongoing activities that ensure BioHorizons is compliant with the required regulations in the markets where we sell our products, both within the USA and internationally. Co-ops support regulatory submission documentation to FDA (within the USA) and other international agencies and product complaint management and investigation activities, as directed. Regulatory co-ops also assist in the authoring of regulatory documentation including SOPs, product manuals, Instructions for Use (IFUs), process flows and work instructions.
