About the Role:
AFTC is currently seeking upcoming or recent grads full-time, entry level positions for Scientists and Engineers (S&Es) across various disciplines.
The Air Force Test Center (AFTC) is headquartered at Edwards Air Force Base, California and leads the developmental test and evaluation mission for the United States Air Force. AFTC conducts developmental test and evaluation of air, space and cyber weapon and flight systems to provide timely, objective and accurate information to decision makers. AFTC also operates the USAF Test Pilot School, which trains test pilots, flight-test engineers, and flight-test navigators. AFTC operates across 34 locations with our 3 major locations listed below.
- Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC), Arnold AFB, TN
- 412 Test Wing, Edwards AFB, CA
- 96 Test Wing, Eglin AFB, FL
The 412th Test Wing plans, conducts, analyzes, and reports on all flight and ground testing of aircraft, weapons systems, software and components as well as modeling and simulation for the United States Air Force. There are three core components for this mission - flying operations, maintenance, and engineering. The Engineering Division and the Electronic Warfare Division provide the central components in the conduct of the Test and Evaluation mission. They provide the tools, talent and equipment for the core disciplines of aircraft structures, propulsion, avionics and electronic warfare evaluation of the latest weapon system technologies. They are also host to the core facilities that enable flight and ground test with the Range Division, Benefield Anechoic Facility, Integrated Flight Avionics Systems Test Facility and the Air Force Electronic Warfare Evaluation Simulator.
The 96th Test Wing is the test and evaluation center for Air Force air-delivered weapons, navigation and guidance systems, Command and Control systems, and Air Force Special Operations Command systems. The wing provides expert evaluation and validation of the performance of systems throughout the design, development, acquisition and sustainment process to ensure the warfighter has technologically superior, reliable, maintainable, sustainable and safe systems. The 96th TW performs developmental test and evaluation across the complete system lifecycle for a wide variety of customers including Air Forces Systems Program Offices, the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), logistics and product centers; major commands; other DoD services and U.S. government agencies (Department of Transportation, NASA, etc.); foreign military sales; and private industry.
The Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC) operates more than 68 aerodynamic and propulsion wind tunnels, rocket and turbine engine test cells, environmental chambers, arc heaters, ballistic ranges, sled tracks, centrifuges and other specialized units. Headquartered at Arnold Air Force Base in middle Tennessee, with operating locations at Ames Research Center, Mountain View and Edwards AFB, CA; Peterson AFB, CO; Eglin AFB, FL; the Federal Research Center at White Oak, MD; Holloman AFB, Kirtland AFB and White Sands Missile Range, NM; Wright-Patterson AFB, OH; and Hill AFB, UT, AEDC offers a suite of test capabilities to simulate speed, temperature, pressure and other parameters over a wide range to meet the needs of aerospace system developers. Our mission is to prove the superiority of systems required to meet the demands of the National Defense Strategy. AEDC has contributed to the development of practically every one of the nation's top priority aerospace programs! Customers include the DoD, Army, Navy and Air Force organizations; NASA, both domestic and foreign private industry, allied foreign governments and educational institutions.

What is the Palace Acquire Program?
This is a recent graduate program that leads to a permanent Scientist or Engineer position with AFCS after successful completion. Bachelor of Science graduates undergo a three-year development and training program, which includes one year of graduate studies relating to selected STEM disciplines. Full-time, paid graduate studies are undertaken with full salary and federal employee benefits. Master of Science graduates
undergo an accelerated, two-year developmental program. The PAQ program offers candidates the opportunity for on-the-job training and mentoring from Civilian and Military experienced
Scientists and Engineers.
Federal benefits include:
- Pension Plan, 401k, Health & Life Insurance, Dental/Vision, plus others
- Student Loan Repayment (Federal Loans)
- Up to $30K for 3-year or $20K for 2-year program
- Paid move to employment location, if residence is 50+ miles away
- Air Force funded Technical Master’s Degree
- Full-time student while receiving full salary
