Mechanical Engineer Co-Op

Position Summary

Provides support for engineering functional areas of Department of Defense, NASA and commercial programs. Performs mechanical design, analysis, drawing, testing, and reporting of results and conclusions and makes recommendations.   

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provides mechanical engineering support to customers and Project Leads
• Assists mechanical engineers and senior level mechanical engineers in developing mechanical designs and providing the necessary documentation to support them.
• Assesses a problem, designs and documents a mechanical engineering solution to address it.
• Updates and modifies drawings to reflect engineering changes.

Education and Experience

• Pursing a BS degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or other related engineering field.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to work independently to accomplish assigned tasks.
• Knowledge of CAD systems, mechanical design, dimensioning and tolerance.
• Knowledge of Solidworks and Solidworks Simulation helpful.
• Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance
  
  Housing can be provided to those who currently reside outside the Huntsville, AL area for the duration of their Co-Op.
