Job location's: Huntsville, AL and Nashville, TN

We have extensive experience with project types such as: high-rise/urban, aerospace, commercial, education, hospitality, healthcare, laboratory, mission critical, industrial, manufacturing, municipal, multifamily, and others.

 Our Internship Program allows students to actively contribute in the construction industry. We feel that the best way to learn about our field is to participate in it, whether hands on field work, or assisting a project manager. You work under the mentorship of an experienced professional who is there to train and support you, while you simultaneously serve as a critical member of the team. The program was devised with input from executives, senior superintendents, project managers, and past interns . Interns will learn the ins and outs of the construction world through various positions throughout their semester.

What you’ll be doing in the office:

  • Reviewing bid documents, quotes, subcontracts, and proposals from the Estimating Department
  • Review shop drawings and product data sheets for conformance to the contract documents
  • Draft subcontracts and purchase orders, order material for the job, and schedule subcontractors
  • Assist in building schedules, change orders, schedules of value, and RFIs
  • Pull mechanical and plumbing permits, and schedule inspections
  • Coordinate work with other trades as needed
  • Build closeout documents for jobs

What you need for this position:

  • Be passionate about construction
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong intrapersonal skills
  • A good attitude, with a willingness to learn and a strong belief in our service culture
  • Be detail oriented, personally organized, with solid time management skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Progress in a Bachelor’s Degree in Building Science, Construction Management, or related Engineering

Prior experience that would be useful:

  • Previous experience with hand and power tools
  • OSHA 10 safety training
  • Prior experience in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction industry
