Process Engineer
Maintains and improves process capabilities using appropriate tools and applicable methodologies.
Inputs and analyses numerical data to identify patterns and relationships that can be used to develop optimal workflows and processes.
Reviews Key Performance Indicator (KPI) monitoring systems and uses technology to achieve goals
Supports the creation of training documents and delivers training
Mentors Apprentices and Technicians to increase individual and team understanding and capability
Manages new product launches focusing on process & tooling design & development to meet customer requirements and expectations, along with FNST profitability requirements, including productivity and scrap targets.
Assesses the feasibility of new production compounds concentrating on their capability of performing to the customer specification and their ease of manufacturing.
Recommends changes be made to the formulation of the compound when the compound does not perform as expected.
Assists with developing the most economical way to manufacture the pre-forms using existing or new technologies.
Maintains the preproduction study system and takes quality system compliance responsibility for the area.
Designs, coordinates, and performs pre-production studies for new materials and/or processes.
Assists in mold design for prototype area as needed
Coordinates preproduction efforts of Material development, Rubber mixing, and Molding departments
Resolves potential processing problems uncovered during preproduction study
Completes preproduction studies in a timely manner in coordination with customer timing or other project manager’s requirements
Supports and possibly manages capital projects – New equipment installation and testing
