Traffic Engineer

Auburn, AL | Full-time | Transportation | 1 Position Available

If you want to make lasting change on your community, join our Traffic team as an entry-level Traffic Engineer in our Auburn office. 

On a typical day, you might be collaborating with your Project Manager to design a new traffic signal, conducting a traffic impact study, or attending a public meeting to educate your community on a project. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about roadway safety and ensuring equitable transportation access to all road users. In addition to data analysis, this role includes writing technical reports, collecting field observations, and traveling to job sites.

MUST HAVES

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
  • EI Certification (or pursuing)
  • 0-5 years of experience 
  • Understanding of traffic operations and conceptual geometric design
  • Knowledge of the Access Management Manual, MUTCD, the Highway Safety Manual, and the Trip Generation Manual
  • CADD experience, preferably MicroStation
  • Possess strong written and oral communication skills with English proficiency
  • Valid Driver’s License 

NICE-TO-HAVES

  • Experience with Synchro or capacity analysis software like HCS
