OxyChem is looking for entry-level individuals pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering to fill the position of Electrical Engineer.

 

Essential Job Duties: 

  • Establishes, develops and implements the Electrical Distribution System Maintenance (EDSM) program in accordance with company guidelines, codes, and governmental regulations. Arranges for contract services support for EDSM program related activities as required
  • Reviews facility electrical maintenance activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to all specifications, codes, and standards.
  • Conducts failure mode analyses to identify units posing excessive failure risks and support proposed changes in design.
  • Ensures Process Safety and Risk Management objectives are practiced daily.
  • Responsible for capital budget, project engineering work including scheduling, estimating, reporting, overview of flow sheets, and directing layout plans.
  • Provides support to the DCS Engineer and DCS systems.
  • Responsible for all maintenance electrical drawings, specifications and associated documents.
  • Designated as the electrical interface with corporate engineering and external electrical consultants.
  • Plans, leads and coordinates projects and troubleshooting efforts.
  • Monitors and controls costs and ensures safe and efficient work.
  • Responsible for planning and executing maintenance & shutdown activities associated with electrical and high voltage systems.

Required Qualifications:

  • Student in qualified Electrical Engineering Degree program
  • Minimum cumulative 2.85 GPA or higher
    • Minimum 2 extracurricular and/or work activities  
  • Must have a graduation date of December 2023 – May 2024
  • Must be willing to relocate
