2024 Software Engineer Intern

Asurion Software Engineering Internship Program 
Nashville, TN 
 
Asurion’s internship program is a 12-week summer internship to help rising sophomores, juniors and seniors get a sneak peek into the technology world. Assigned to a team, interns will have their own projects to complete and present to leadership at the end of the summer. The program will provide the intern with a unique strategic perspective, professional and personal development along the way, and experiences to enhance their academic learnings. As an Asurion intern, you will make contributions through project work, presentations, and networking. Are you ready to join our award-winning internship, in Nashville? Asurion’s Internship: 
  • Open to rising sophomores, juniors and seniors currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree related to internship duties or major(s) below 
  • Sophomores: must graduate by May/June 2026  
  • Juniors: must graduate by May/June 2025 
  • Seniors: must graduate by May/June 2024 
  • Continuous learning and tailored on the job training in technology, product development, security, and/or finance  
  • Exposure to senior leadership including but not limited to onboarding, learning and development sessions, and team business case capstone presentations 
  • Build an intern community through peer intern groups, mentors, and direct intern leaders throughout the summer 
 
Preferred Majors: Student must be pursuing bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Information Technology, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Data Science, or related field with a graduation date in Spring 2024 – 2025 
 
The Teams: This is a fantastic opportunity to be a part of an innovative technology team. We are looking for interns who want to be involved in a little bit of everything but most importantly, love to learn. 
  • Project Example 1: Create a VR training module for Asurion's major appliance technicians. The VR module walks technicians through parts of a refrigerator and outlines how to fix common problems 
  • Project Example 2: Help build complex software applications that support collaboration at Asurion utilizing the latest technologies from Microsoft and Amazon cloud environments 
  • Project Example 3: Build systems that support Asurion’s Device Protection customer interactions in digital channels, including web and communications 
 
 
Interview Process: Complete an initial recruiter phone/zoom interview, hacker rank coding challenge, and a final round interview at Asurion’s HQ in Nashville, TN.  
  • Our Mutual Match process allows for internship program participants to “match” with one of our fantastic project teams this summer. The mutual matching process for accepted interns will begin March 2024. 
 
Requirements:  
  • Academic or hands on experience with one or more programming languages, including but not limited to: JavaScript, React, HTML, CSS, SQL, Node.js, Java, Python, PHP, Bootstrap, jQuery 
  • Enthusiasm for problem solving, learning and collaborating with others 
  • Desire to become either a full-stack software engineer, back-end software engineer, front-end engineer, or digital experience engineer 
 
Responsibilities: 
  • As a member of our team, you will not just observe, but be an active participant in collaboration sessions, technical design jams, workshops and design sprints as well as daily standups, retrospectives, writing code & team outings 
  • Interns will collaborate with our cross functional team composed of Product Managers, UX designers, developers, and quality automation engineers to build features and enhancements for our products 
  • Transform ideas, business opportunities, research and creative vision into tangible assets that provide clear, usable, useful and desirable outcomes for users 
  • Gain comprehension of existing deployment process and engineer automation where possible
