Mechanical Design Engineer

Company Overview:
Myer Companies is an upcoming, ASME pressure vessel manufacturer with experience in diverse markets like Renewables, Petrochemicals, Power generation and Oil & Gas. A Leader in the industry for 10+ years in manufacturing, research and development, and on-site support for small and larger capital projects.
Education and Experience: 
Education: A Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
Experience: Entry Level or up to 3 or more years of relevant industrial experience in mechanical engineering and design. On-the-job training will be provided.
Job Summary and Responsibilities:
The Mechanical Design Engineer needs to perform custom engineering, 3-D modeling and all design activities linked to development of metal fabricated equipment like Tanks, Pressure vessels and Heat Exchangers. Perform design and analysis necessary to fabricate equipment based on data sheets, sketches, specifications, and standards provided by ASME & customer.
Needs to provide manufacturing support and technical information during the fabrication, assembly, and testing process.
Manage customer requests with the Sales team during the quote process.
Research and implement innovative technical solutions to achieve project objectives.
Review and check drawings and take the responsibility for the design.
Adherence to client and/or company specifications, codes, and standards.
Job Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
Proficiency in Solid Works and AutoCAD 2-D.
Knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer, mechanics of materials, Material Science, Metallurgy, fabrication processes and structural stress analysis.
In addition, some experience with Mathcad, or similar design software is a plus.
Creativity, Innovation, and excellent hands-on practical mechanical skills.
Responsibilities:
Perform engineering calculations to determine stresses, deflections, maximum loads on weldments and attachments.
Create 3-D parametric models and fabrication drawings with detailed bills of materials for engineered equipment.
Order management using ERP system.
Provide Work instructions and all custom order requirements to Production and provide support to manufacturing operation leaders in processing, welding, fitting, machining, assembly, and testing.
Create support documentation for submittals of drawings and calculations.
