School Climate Coordinator - Healthy Choices AmeriCorps

ABOUT SAN FRANCISCO UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT & AMERICORPS

Healthy Choices, an AmeriCorps program in SFUSD, helps students across schools succeed. Diverse teams of Healthy Choices AmeriCorps members provide support to students, classrooms and the whole school, helping to ensure that students in systematically under-resourced schools receive a high-quality education that prepares them with the skills and mindset to thrive and contribute to their community.

The primary goal of Healthy Choices AmeriCorps is to support schools in developing a network of care to enhance student success by increasing attendance, a sense of belonging, and pro-social behaviors on school campuses. Our program trains AmeriCorps members to become future school leaders who will be prepared to cultivate caring communities, embrace all students’ strengths, and support student resilience and agency. Through this program AmeriCorps members serve over 1,600 students in 30 public schools.
