Are you a business minded, outgoing, and driven Building Science or Civil Engineering student interested in pursuing a career in the construction industry? If so, HPM can provide you with a unique co-op experience! We are not a general contractor or a design firm - we are a Program Manager, helping Owners navigate the construction process from conception through move-in! Students are not only exposed to the technical aspects of estimating, project management, and quality oversight. Students also get the opportunity to exercise soft skills and business development as they will work alongside a variety of people with diverse roles and skillsets.
Duties include: gaining an understanding of the construction process-estimating, bidding, construction; working with the submittal process- maintaining appropriate logs, reviewing submittals, and approving shop drawings and submittals; preparing transmittals for distribution of project documentation; assist in jobsite setup/permits/closeout; participating in quantity take off/estimating. Candidates should possess computer skills including working with spreadsheets, good communication skills, and a willingness to handle responsibility.
Requirements: •Student actively pursuing a four year or advanced degree in Civil Engineering or Building Science •Minimum 2.50 GPA •Completed college freshman year
