POSITION OVERVIEW
Milliken is in search of a Lead SAP Developer to join our team! This position is located at our global headquarters in Spartanburg, SC in the IT Department reporting to the IT Development Manager. The Lead SAP Developer will work closely with the IT Development Manager to help determine strategy and direction for the SAP development team. The position includes management of the SAP developers to grow their skills and provide value to the company as a team. Building successful working relationships across other IT technical, security, development, and business analyst teams is essential to the role. A Hybrid Work schedule including 3 days on site at the Milliken global headquarters and 2 days of remote work is defined for this position.
 
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
•         Build and maintain a strong application portfolio of custom SAP applications for business and customer needs with an expectation of 50% of time spent developing individually to continue to remain in touch with the skillset
•         Research for SAP standard solutions to determine direction for SAP development within Milliken
•         Encourage adoption of SAP solutions that can be used out of the box to drive value of the purchased software
•         Evangelize SAP as a technology platform to increase its usage across the company
•         Proactively look for changes in SAP technology that need to be introduced to keep up to date with the platform and application direction
•         Build the productivity of the team by coaching developers in their career paths and technical skills
•         Maintain a depth of technical knowledge to support current and future SAP development needs
•         Present complex ideas, anticipate potential objections, and persuade others to consider your point of view
•         Think holistically about how to improve applications to reduce support opportunities and streamline delivery of value
•         Ownership of ensuring best practices for development transports through the landscape and troubleshooting issues throughout the installation process
•         Engage regularly with developers to share knowledge, build synergy, and help with development challenges
•         Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine development solutions to meet time and budget parameters while satisfying end user requirements
•         Ensure development reenforces SAP data structures and data integrity throughout design, technology selection, implementation, and management
•         Actively participate in all team Agile ceremonies
•         Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, influencers, and product owners to drive awareness and adoption of new concepts
•         Provide technical leadership to developers by defining development processes and standards
•         Validate that all development work is done to specification, development best practices, and standards
•         Assist with the administrative activities of the department including interviewing job candidates, approval of expenses/time, and vendor support
•         Provide on-call support for all supported software systems as required for a 24/7 global manufacturing company
•         Develop test plans and conduct unit, system, integration, and functional tests
•         Write technical specifications of any custom developed application
 
QUALIFICATIONS – REQUIRED
•         BS in Computer Science or 5 years equivalent work experience
•         Minimum of 7 years developing SAP applications in an enterprise IT environment
•         At least 2-3 years of leadership experience as a senior developer or development lead
•         Expertise designing, coding, and supporting SAP applications in Dynpro & SAPUI5
•         Breadth of experience with SAP application integration best practices including Odata services and EDI
•         Understanding of key principles in SAP security
•         Efficacy in researching, analyzing, and determining the best fit processes/solutions
•         A bias for executing practical and simple solutions
 
QUALIFICATIONS – PREFERRED
•         Adobe forms development experience and understanding of the ADS architecture
•         Exposure to the Fiori launchpad architecture and administration of services for its enablement
•         Certified Scrum Developer or equivalent experience developing in the Agile SCRUM framework
•         Maintenance and usage of Jira in previous software development roles
•         Development experience during upgrades - including SPDD & SPAU
