POSITION OVERVIEW
As a member of the Applications Platform team, you will be working with a wide array of platforms and technologies that augment or directly provide critical business functions. Technologies include on-premise, cloud-based, and hybrid solutions. Directory services, various Azure solutions, certificate services, web platforms, and CDN solutions represent some of the technologies the team is responsible for. Milliken has embarked on an exciting digital transformation journey with many strategic projects. Examples include deploying a digital marketing platform, an enterprise CRM solution, and many more. In addition to working with your immediate teammates and other IS teams, you will often be interacting with other Milliken departments and technology partners.
You will report to the IS Manager of System Engineering. Travel requirements are minimal but may be occasionally necessary to provide on-site collaboration for projects and training. Night and weekend work are occasionally required for on-call rotation support and critical system upgrades.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade various application platforms and solutions
• Setup and support reverse proxy and integration platforms that connect systems, including on-premise to cloud platform integrations
• Work closely with development teams to facilitate application deployment methodologies and processes
• Work independently and as a member of a team based on project needs
• Actively participate in system design, as well as develop formal system testing, change management, and installation processes
• Research and propose new solutions and improvements in your areas of responsibility.
• Harden and secure platforms from potential threats, both internal and external
QUALIFICATIONS – REQUIRED
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), etc
• Clear experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and upgrading application platforms
• Clear experience maintaining and supporting externally exposed web-based solutions
• Solid RDBMS knowledge (e.g. Oracle, MSSQL, DB2) - Microsoft SQL preferred
• Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work with multiple management levels within the company
• Excellent technical writing and system documentation skills
• Good oral and written communications skills, initiative, and assertiveness
QUALIFICATIONS – PREFERRED
• Experience using CDN technology to augment global web-based solutions.
• Experience deploying and maintaining web-based CMS or Digital Experience Platforms.
• Active or previous usage of Azure technologies, Cloudflare, Sitecore DXP, and Octopus Deploy
