Investment Management Analyst Intern
Middleburg Communities is a fully integrated multifamily investment, development, construction, and management company operating in the Southeastern and Mid-Atlantic United States. We are currently searching for Summer Analyst Interns to join our Investment Management Team at our Corporate Headquarters in Vienna, VA.
Our Analyst Internship Program focuses on providing our participants the opportunities to collaborate with and learn directly from the Middleburg senior and executive leadership teams through our 8-10 week paid rotational program. The program is positioned within Investment Management and will be working directly with all of Middleburg’s business divisions including investments, property management, development, and construction. This exceptional program provides broad hands-on exposure to several aspects of the Multifamily real estate industry at one of the region’s top-performing firms. You can expect that no two days will be the same and each day will provide a new opportunity to truly learn about all facets of our business and provide critical support.
Position Overview-
- Build financial models using Excel to evaluate historical & future data projections on financial performance for the investment management team
- Provide underwriting support for prospective acquisition & development ventures using excel models for investment strategy review
- Create investment offering memorandums & assist in preparing investor presentations & reports for the capital markets team.
- Perform property due diligence & market research for the asset management team
- Conduct a comprehensive analysis of performance for critical operating activities like leasing & renewals to assist the property management teams.
Desired Skills & Experience-
- Current Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor's program in Real Estate, Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related program required at an accredited college or university.
- Desire to learn all aspects of the real estate industry to accelerate your development & to learn to build your career upon
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including building models & data analysis.
- Excellent written & oral communication & presentation skills using MS Word & PowerPoint
- Strong time management skills, including the ability to multitask & meet deadlines in a timely manner.
- Ability to be a self-starter; build knowledge of transactions & industry terms; contribute beyond the direct scope of the role.
