Software Quality Assurance Engineer
PTAC Companies is seeking a Software Quality Assurance Engineer to help test and ensure the quality of a new software platform that we're developing for construction estimating and project tracking. Your duties will include testing and maintaining our software solution to meet customer requirements through team and individual efforts. You will work closely with the Software Developers to report and track software defects to ensure that a quality product is delivered to the client.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Develop an understanding of the industry in order to identify practical use cases and translate them into test plans
- Participate in design reviews and provide input on requirements, design, and potential problems
- Review software requirements and prepare test scenarios
- Analyze and test software to ensure that the product meets design specifications
- Identify, report, and manage the lifecycle of all software defects through Microsoft Azure DevOps
- Investigate failures and collaborate with Software Developers to ensure the root cause is investigated and a viable solution is implemented
- Confirmation of bug fixes
- Help troubleshoot and resolve customer issues
- Assist in developing and maintaining customer support documentation
- Aid in creating and conducting training programs as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer science, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 2+ years in software testing experience
- Must be detail oriented
- Possess strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Desire to learn new skills and technologies as necessary
