The Test and Validation Engineer is responsible for ensuring quality designs through comprehensive requirement testing and validation.  We are looking for high-energy engineering talent to transform our test and development department into a highly-effective, strategic force within Engineering. The ideal candidate is an individual possessing a passion for leadership, change, team spirit, and enthusiasm. The vision for our test and development department is a highly-credible, influential, and capable operation held in highest regard and characterized by excellence.

In this test engineering role, individuals will have the authority, support, and autonomy to execute the vision as well as establishing themselves as highly respected contributors.  

The position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of different components, subsystems and vehicles. The position requires the technical expertise to develop and lead product validation testing, drive to root cause for quality and reliability issues, interpret technical agency standards, and conduct projects in accordance with engineering excellence. 

Expectations:
  • Help to execute and build validation (physical and analytical) capabilities throughout the department according to our test vision
  • Tailor your communication and leadership style for maximum effectiveness and influence across all levels of the organization
  • Drive diligence and collaboration in requirements, analysis, modeling, DFMEA, testing, acceptance criteria
  • Employ project management methodologies that ensure a predictable outcome for department goals and responsibilities
  • Continuously raise your level of leadership, authority, and influence
  • Full understanding of how to accelerate and correlate our test methodologies
 
Core Responsibilities: 
  • Develop DVP&R’s (Design Verification Plan and Report) ensuring traceability from requirements to validation
  • DFMEA (Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) participation 
  • Develop laboratory test plans, analyze test data and write technical reports
  • Automate test setups and data reporting
  • Standardize test procedures through the development of test guidelines
  • Correlate lab testing to field duty cycles
  • Drive culture of traceable test acceptance criteria using reliability and confidence in designs
  • Provide guidance and leadership to design engineers, lab technicians and other team members 
  • Administer appropriate agency and regulatory approval processes
  • Prepare complete schedules and achieve scheduled milestones for assigned projects 
  • Provide engineering support to product planning, external customers and/or technical support teams
  • Proficient at identifying project/subsystem risks and developing/executing subsequent mitigation plans
  • Helps develop technical judgment of others within the department
  • Regularly uses advanced decision making tools and techniques
  • Knows when more data is required to make technical decisions
  • Effectively self-manage medium to large size projects
  • Able to organize the efforts of a small group of individuals

Education and/or Experience Required: 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required and 0+ years’ experience in engineering/testing is required

  • Excellent technical, analytical, and problem solving skills

  • Knowledge of the appropriate product safety and testing standards

  • Problem solving (9-step, 8D, etc.)
  • Competency in Microsoft products including, Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint required
