Job Summary:
Club Car is seeking a motivated, entry-level Mechanical Engineer to grow our Commercial Vehicles engineering team. In this role, the engineer will be initially teamed with a mentor to learn how to support the Club Car assembly line with design solutions and then transition to more autonomy and responsibility as the engineer gains more experience. This job will provide excellent opportunities to gain familiarity and knowledge in Club Car products, processes and our people.

Essential duties and responsibilities
· Be the first point of design engineering contact for operations when issues occur on the Commercial Vehicle assembly lines.
· Manage and execute smaller scale projects that involve design and application of mechanical parts and systems.
· Interact directly with our cross-functional teams including global integrated supply chain teams to effectively contribute to new product development and support of quality, reliability, and cost reduction projects.
· Interact with raw material suppliers, molders, and fabricators to coordinate and manage the external project deliverables through the product development process.
· Use appropriate analytical and test methods in designing parts, selecting appropriate manufacturing materials and processes, and writing test plans to ensure that the product meets or exceeds customers’ requirements.
· Conduct technical design reviews as part of the product development process and facilitate design reviews with external suppliers for tooling and fabricating of components.

Minimum qualifications
· Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 0-2 years of industry experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
· Knowledge of mechanical systems, vehicles preferred
· Enthusiasm towards growing program/project management skills for an in-depth understanding of stage gate product development processes.
· General understanding of value chain analysis methodology and value engineering.
· Ability to drive innovative ideas/solutions into product designs.
· PTC CREO or other 3D CAD – assembly modeling experience.
· Familiar with simulations such as Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
· Familiar with problem solving and analytical skills in order to resolve technical issues.
· Experience working in a team environment.
· Up to 10% travel may be required, including international travel.
