Part-time Water Treatment Operator Intern

Under the direction of the Plant Superintendent, the water treatment operator is responsible for assisting, observing and performing duties as directed by the filter plant Senior / Chief Operator, designated operator or Maintenance Supervisor and learning to perform laboratory control tests, collecting distribution system data, and observing preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment. These job functions in combination with significant self-study and attendance of any assigned courses are to prepare for the Grade 4 certification exam. Attentiveness, adherence to safety standards, and conscientious work effort will be required at all times.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Assist, observe and perform other duties as directed by Senior/Chief Operator, designated
operator or Maintenance Supervisor.
2. Observe and perform sampling methods
3. Observe and perform laboratory tests using bench top and inline monitoring equipment
4. Observe and perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on monitoring
equipment.
5. Attend all required instructor lead classes
6. Successfully complete all online training courses
7. Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIUMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High school graduate, enrollment in college preferred.
