Structural Engineering Internship

RESPONSABILITIES
 
  • Designing specific elements within overall structural systems for a variety of project types, including manufacturing, distribution, data center, commercial, self-storage, churches, historical, public sector, retail, adaptive reuse, and renovations, and existing facility analysis.
  • Interacting and coordinating with structural engineers and Revit/Cad Designers to produce deliverables are compliant with client expectations and Bennett & Pless quality levels.
  • Preparing construction drawings in Revit/AutoCAD format, preparing calculations as directed by the project structural engineer, reviewing shop drawings and submittals, performing site reviews with the project structural engineer, and preparing RFI responses as directed by the project structural engineer.
  • Experience should include exposure to wood, steel, load-bearing light gage steel, concrete, and masonry design, and shallow and deep foundation systems.
 
QUALIFICATIONS
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
  • Pursuit of a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering is strongly preferred.
  • Some experience in structural design is preferred.
  • Ability to learn applicable codes in project-specific jurisdictions and apply to the project.
  • Experience in Revit is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in AutoCAD is required.
  • Experience with industry standard software, including but not limited to Microsoft products, Bentley (RAM) products, RISA, EnerCalc, Adapt, etc.
  • Should have a driver’s license and a personal vehicle to make site visits at short notices
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
