Engineering Intern (Atlanta, Raleigh, Austin)
The Engineering Intern will gain hands on experience in concrete construction engineering and technical activities by providing drafting, surveying, estimating, calculations, material control, and other supporting activities for our professional engineering team.
Responsibilities:
- Drafting, charting, mapping, and similar graphical presentation work
- Performing quantity takeoff and data input
- Preparing and coordinating shop drawings to support construction work, change orders, and estimates
- Derive basic calculations required to support formwork systems selected
- Research and recommend resolutions to drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, interferences, and errors
- Communicate shop drawing changes and distribute to supervision and management
- Verify all completed work complies with applicable drawings and specifications
Qualifications:
- Working towards or planning to pursue degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Building Science, Construction Management, or related degree
- Proficient communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Experience with AutoCAD
- Ability to read and understand drawings
Working Condition Requirements:
- Work performed in general office environment and at project jobsites
- Reliable method of getting to office and project jobsites
- Project jobsite conditions may be subject to rough terrain and inclement weather
