Civil Engineering Graduate (Roadway Design)

ALDOT is correctly filling positions within Design Bureau, Roadway Design Section in Montgomery, Al. Positions within the Roadway Design Section will consist of being a designer of roadway plans by developing various aspects of the plans ranging from horizontal and vertical geometry, erosion control plans, traffic control plans, hydraulic analysis and much more. Persons in these positions will deal with projects that range in complexity from simple bridge replacement and widening existing roadways to developing new highways and freeways throughout the state using Microstation and InRoads/OpenRoads software packages. As part of the design process, a designer also has contact with other designers, Bureaus, Regions, other state/federal agencies and the public. While designing a project the designer will attend plan reviews, project site visits, and public involvement meetings that may cause them to travel 3-4 times/year.
