2022-2023 Chevron Oronite Development Program Scientist

Chemical, oil, & gas process or product research.  Includes work focused on creating something that doesn't exist yet or solving problems that require an extended period of study. Includes strategic and production research related consulting.  Does not include software development.
The Chevron Oronite development program is a unique opportunity for a Chemical Engineer, Mechanical Engineer or Chemist (or related field) with graduate research experience (MS or PhD) to gain broad skills in their early career within Chevron Oronite Technology group while contributing to important projects and business goals. Oronite development program scientist will hold three positions in wide ranging areas of responsibility within the company over a period of three years and then is guaranteed to be placed into a permanent position at Chevron. Potential 1 year rotational research assignments include exploratory chemistry, process development, formulation development for automotive or industrial engine oil applications, manufacturing support, and business development. Relevant skills for this position include laboratory skills and technical knowledge gained thru their engineering or chemistry studies and research that include running laboratory-scale chemical reactions, chemical analysis methods, applying technical knowledge to applied research problems and safe laboratory practices The successful candidate in this role will be capable of applying their technical, laboratory and analytical skills in design/synthesis of new experimental molecules, process development of new specialty chemical additives, and/or formulation development for Chevron Oronite’s global lubricant and fuel additive businesses.
