Advanced Engineering Development Program

The Advanced Engineering Development Program (AEDP) is designed to develop talented individuals into future Engineering and Supply Chain leaders for Newell Brands. The Program immerses recent college graduates into multiple engineering-focused roles over the course of two to 2.5 years. You will work in key operations environments that are focused on using innovation, modern smart technology and automation to enhance manufacturing practices. Program participants will develop key technological core competencies to meet and exceed the challenges of Industry 4.0 at a Fortune 500 company.
 
Program Structure
The AEDP program is designed to provide the opportunity to have three different roles (approx. 8 months’ duration) amongst various engineering and field operations categories. Each of the roles will be in different engineering, maintenance or operations functions. The majority of the roles / location assignments will be located at a Manufacturing or Distribution Center location and will not require a relocation between assignments. Each rotation assignment is distinct, but will inherently have a degree of cross-functionality experience as well as technical training. The goal is to gain different technical and operational experiences that build upon one another throughout each rotation assignment. At the end of the 2-year Program, you will be positioned to go into a role that best fits your strengths, interests, and career aspirations, all while satisfying business needs and availability.

During each of your rotation assignments you will connect with your fellow rotational program participants and other early career professionals for development and training at specific times of the year. During the sessions you will:
·      Receive formal training in areas such as project management, finance, interpersonal skills, and continuous improvement
·      Interact with Newell leaders and executives
·      Network with rotational program alumni and other early career professionals through teambuilding activities.
·      Give back to the local community through service events

Leadership Experience
In addition to the experience you will receive within your rotation assignments, you will have the opportunity to gain leadership experience by holding a leadership position in and outside of the program. This also gives you the chance to improve your project management skills by working cross-functionally on projects designed to address actionable Newell Brands initiatives that will drive business results.

Requirements
·      Recent college graduate with an Engineering or Engineering Technology degree in Mechanical, Controls, Mechatronics, Electrical, Computer Science, Computer, Automation, Manufacturing or similar field (required)
·      Overall 3.0 GPA or higher
·      Excellent oral and written communication skills
·      Relevant engineering related research or work experience is highly preferred
·      Must be flexible - willingness to relocate, if necessary, and take different roles as assigned
