Design Engineer - Fire Alarm Systems

Responsibilities:
• Work closely with Sales Engineers and Project Managers to develop project drawings
• Completing CAD details, sitemaps, fire alarm drawings, as-built plans, voltage calculations and technical details as needed
• This is a sedentary role; however, some lifting is required
• Managing blueprints and operating large format plotter would be required daily

• Production of construction drawings using Revit and AutoCAD for a wide variety of fire protection, fire alarm, and life safety systems
• Producing 2D and 3D drawings, producing floor plans, one-line diagrams, riser diagrams, and details
• Coordinating with other disciplines and assisting engineers in design development
• Performing hydraulic calculations and reviewing design drawings for quality
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting Technology, or related field is preferred
• 2-year associates degree with specialized training in CAD will also be considered
• NICET Level I is required or able to be acquire within designated time
• NICET Level II is preferred
• Revit experience is preferred
• Proficient with Revit and/or AutoCAD
• Ability to prioritize work assignments in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work collaboratively with individuals at all levels in in a multi-discipline team environment
• Design of Low Voltage Systems including Fire Alarm, Security, CCTV, Access Control, Intercom/Mass Notification
• Candidate must be self-motivated, organized, and able to work on various projects at one time
• Familiar with low voltage systems and integration for the following systems, Audio-Visual, Data, CCTV, Intercom, Fire Alarm and Security
• Knowledge of blueprints and project specifications
• Ability to quickly learn new design and calculation software
• Keep up to date of current CAD standards to maintain continuity of drawings
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to details, highly organized is necessary
• Ability to work independently as well as with a team
• Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills
• Reliable transportation, driver’s license, insurance
