Essential Functions
This list is meant to be representative, not exhaustive. Duties include regularly assisting freshman sequence faculty or occasionally other Goodrich faculty in the delivery of Goodrich courses. An applicant with the additional ability to tutor in math (such as MATH 1210: Intermediate Algebra or MATH 1220: College Algebra) will be preferred.
Goodrich requires all eligible applicants to take an English competency test that consists of two parts (fundamental English grammar and an essay). Only those who pass the test will be invited for an interview.

Additional Duties
Fall Semester Duties
• Attend English classes and assist the English faculty
• Provide feedback to about 10 students (one hour per week per student) on the organization, development, grammar and mechanics of their writing
• Work with students who need additional assistance in writing
• Help in preparing assignments and learning materials for individualized instruction as part of English Composition classes and for use in individual tutorials
• Assist in editing ARS (Academic Resource Seminar) manual and in facilitating ARS
• Attend regular Goodrich faculty/staff meetings and special staff meetings.
• Assist in faculty/staff preparation for the annual Goodrich Information Day for incoming Goodrich scholars
• Assist with other duties as necessary or as assigned
• Assist with any online delivery of learning/information

Spring Semester Duties
• Assist Coordinator with any task necessary for the Goodrich scholarship application process, including data entry, organization, scheduling, interviewing and any other duties related to the Goodrich application process
• Work with others as a team on special projects (e.g., Sophomore Awards Celebration)
• Participate in the spring Futures Fair and assist in its development and planning
• Assist faculty/staff in (GA’s) areas of extra specialty or competency (for
example, educational or mobile technology)
• Assume appropriate duties as assigned
• Assist with any online delivery of learning/information

Required Qualifications
1. High pass on the English Competency Test
2. Knowledge of Microsoft Suite and Microsoft Teams (especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
3. Open to the needs and values of culturally diverse students with financial need
4. Knowledge of United States cultural diversity and ability to use such knowledge to facilitate interactions with students
5. Demonstrable initiative
6. Ability to pay close attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
7. Critical reasoning skills

Salary
$1407.10/month (subject to change)
