JOB TITLE: Construction Craft Representative
DEPARTMENT: Project Controls
LOCATION: Omaha, NE
Zachry Group is seeking a Construction Craft Rep to support the Craft Supervision team (General Foremen, Foremen and Superintendents) to ensure assigned craft(s) work is planned, understood, well documented, measured and executed per the plan.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Pre-planning and development of work packages
- Validate all work packages element are available
- Progress management, project reporting and data analysis
- Support of cost/contract/change management.
- Work with jobsite General Foremen, Foremen, and Superintendent on proper usage of cost codes
- Read and understand technical drawings
- Read and understand technical specifications
- Perform material takeoff quantification from available drawings
- Apply plans and specifications to operational activities
- Monitor quantity fluctuations in control processes and systems
- Assist the Craft Supervision Team with procurement processes and verification that required materials are available
- Perform other duties as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, Accounting, or applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement
- 0-12 months direct construction experience
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency with computer skills
- Must be willing to relocate to various project locations
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with large industrial projects, and understanding of project environments, requirements, and risks
- Knowledge and understanding of engineering, construction, and project management is desired
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Developing professional, influential and leadership skills
- Good language skills (written and oral)
- Good math skills
- Possess strong computer skills, especially in Excel and Word
- Expert technical knowledge of large industrial construction, schedule and cost
- Possess excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to thrive in a team working environment
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Employee will be required to communicate in person, via telephone, email, video chat and software systems. Position will require mobility at construction sites and industrial facilities (on ground and at heights) and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and work boots.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Employee will work in multiple environments including an office, warehouse and in a trailer or building on construction sites. On construction sites noise levels will be moderate to high. Job site will contain: light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment and tools, people standing, walking, sitting, signaling and talking, bells whistles and alarms.
