Data Analyst / Business Analyst – Trading Operations (Entry Level)

Position Overview:
CCI is hiring an experienced Data Analyst to join our Trade Support & Exchange Clearing Team in Houston. This role will own the data management and reporting for the Exchange Clearing team and support the execution of new processes. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your passion for data analysis and management within a trade floor environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate business processes improvement strategies and how those relate to new or existing technologies to develop new tools and leverage technology to enable better decision making and commercial growth.
  • Evaluate data inputs for errors and build out appropriate workflows to improve data quality.
  • Ensure timely resolution of queries and data issues.
  • Create business requirement documents, process documents, UAT test cases and perform UAT.
  • Ad-Hoc projects which include new business implementation, system improvements, change management, and efficiency/cost saving initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • 0-2+ years’ experience with data management and familiarity with data management and data analysis concepts.
  • Prior experience or strong knowledge and understanding of the commodity markets & experience with commodities data (Product, Market, Exchange etc.) is a plus but not required.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Prior experience with SQL, Python, or similar programming skills is a plus
  • Advanced MS Excel skills required.
  • Effective project management skills, ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize tasks accordingly.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Keen interest in data management and process improvement.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, or related degree.
