Auditor II Product Certification - Indianapolis

As the Auditor Product Certification – Indianapolis, you will be responsible for providing audit services to Certification programs and other NSF clients. Those audits will include chemical companies, food equipment manufacturers, drinking water treatment units and filters, pool and spa equipment and so much more. 

Principle Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Conduct monitoring and initial audits
  • Manage enforcement issues stemming from certification audits
  • Provide a timely response to corrective actions proposed by NSF clients
  • Conduct special visits to investigate product failures and verify the implementation of corrective actions taken by NSF clients
  • Investigate and resolve complaints 
  • Develop cost-effective work plans for the completion of assigned audits
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with program representatives and project managers as it relates to assigned clients 
  • Monitor and report client needs, service delivery issues, and competitive threats to the management team
  • Develop business by responding to inquiries, conducting introductory visits, conducting seminars, and attending conferences in support of NSF’s business units
  • Support NSF’s business units by assisting clients in the identification of additional NSF services that may be beneficial (examples – new products for certification, test-only services, quality system registration)
  • Perform other duties as requested

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental health, related science, or business
  • Ability to work independently from remote (home based) location
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to obtain a profession registration (environmental health, engineering, or related profession)
  • Must have a valid driver license and reliable transportation
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing or other non-office setting

Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in environmental health, related science or business
  • Two (2) years food processing or health department/field auditing experience or with quality control
  • Two (2) years experience working in the public or private sector as a health sanitarian
  • Work experience as a chemist, microbiologist, or related quality function
  • Professional registration
  • Foreign language skills (Spanish, French, other languages)

Physical Demands
  • Required frequent overnight travel
  • Required to stand or walk for long periods of time
  • Medium to heavy physical effort required (ability to carry equipment weighing 25 lbs or less)
