Production Manager (Live Music)

Overview of Duties and Responsibilities
We are seeking Production Managers with excellent leadership skills, technical expertise, and a proven record of accomplishment. Effective project management, troubleshooting, and customer service are key to success. You will lead a team of technicians providing professional event lighting, audio, visual, stage production and management support at venues across the United States. You will be responsible for the entire preparation and run of the concert, including managing the crew for the show (lighting tech, sound tech, video tech, and stagehands). You will be involved in training and managing their team members to ensure that the concert and its production run smoothly.
The responsibilities of the Production Manager (Team Lead) include:
- Ensure timeliness, uniformity, and professionalism of the production team throughout the event
- Have and maintain in-depth knowledge of audio and visual effects equipment
- Work with the General Manager to schedule their crew and routing
- Manage, develop, and lead their production team
- Hold a security meeting prior to show (between load-in and sound check)
- Maintain a planned schedule for all work done on each show
- Follow show checklist(s) given to them by the General Manager
- Advance the show and confirm all equipment is prepared
- Lead advance calls for assigned shows with the promoter, venue, and artist(s) on show
- Maintain and track inventory and equipment lists
- Load and unload equipment for their assigned shows
- Oversee the cleaning and maintenance of gear reserved from the warehouse (Lead is not required to personally clean)
- Make sure the run of show is followed
- Troubleshoot technical problems throughout the show and handle escalations
Requirements:
- Minimum 5+ years experience in audio, visual, and lighting production
- Knowledge of: lighting systems, instruments, and design; audio systems, setup, and design; stage design and construction; video; stage management.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
- Ability to lift or carry 50lbs in a range of motions
- Self-starting, able to work independently, and driven to anticipate issues and improve systems and policies on an ongoing basis
- Flex-schedule availability for evenings and weekends
