Job Description
EBAD seeks a candidate for the position of Packaging Engineer, reporting to the Manager, Document & Data Control. The position is located in Simsbury, CT.
Responsibilities:
The Packaging Engineer is responsible for designing and implementing packaging methods to ensure conformance to DOT and customer specifications to support the successful delivery of products. Additionally, the Packaging engineer is responsible for obtaining Competent Authority approvals for the shipment of energetic products
- Support and coordinate UNPOP testing
- Generate specifications, drawings and packaging instructions to comply with Customer and DOT requirements.
- Uploading specifications and certifications into ERP (IFS) system.
- Design cost effective packaging to safely deliver a wide variety of energetic, mechanical and electrical products.
- Obtain Competent Authority approvals for the shipment of energetics
Requirements:
The successful candidate must have a BS degree in Package Engineering/Packaging Science with 1-5 years experience in packaging design within a manufacturing environment.
Skills include:
- Design experience utilizing wood, corrugated, foam in a manufacturing environment
- Proficient with Microsoft office suite software (Word, Powerpoint, and Excel)
- Must be organized, able to multitask and meet commitments
- Solidworks CAD modeling knowledge helpful
- Familiarity with 49 CFR very helpful
- Ability to interpret and analyze requirements including Military and ASTM specifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Excellent teamwork/interpersonal skills to support multiple functional groups
- Ability to work in a changing priority environment, juggling multiple priorities
