Student Nurse Technician

STUDENT NURSE TECHNICIAN
The Student Nurse Tech provides basic patient care and may perform specific procedures as outlined by the facility under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Qualifications:
- This position requires proof of completion of the first year/fundamentals of nursing, (or equivalent) of an accredited nursing school
- Knowledge of basic nursing techniques and procedures, aseptic practices, and cardio-pulmonary techniques is required
- This position requires the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to follow written and verbal instructions, and to maintain effective working relations with others including patients, families, physicians and other hospital associates
- BLS required at hire
Responsibilities:
- Under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse the Student Nurse Tech performs procedures, collects and documents demographic and patient data
- Communicates significant information and changes in patient condition to Registered Nurse
- Demonstrates competency in practice of procedures before independently performing procedure
- Seeks learning experiences and continually updates skill inventory
- Adheres to infection control policy and procedure including hand washing, use of PPE, and observations of precautions
- Performs other duties as assigned
