Utility Construction Services, LLC (“UCS Group”) was formed in 2006 with the vision to provide SAFE-RELIABLE-COST EFFECTIVE and PRODUCTIVE services to the electrical utility industry.
Since our inception, our company has grown, and we have increased our services to meet the needs of many clients. We specialize in power transmission, power distribution, substations, foundations, and right of way clearing services throughout the South-Central United States.

UCS group evaluates projects based on quality of construction, provides cost estimates, helps maintain project scheduling, and works with our customers to meet quality, cost, and time objectives.

Job Description:

• Manage/coordinate all company owned equipment, rental equipment & tooling. Including sourcing, delivery, tracking and return for assigned job territories.
• Ensure equipment is both properly maintained and repaired as needed and in a timely manner
• Works closely (daily) with Operations to identify the right equipment/tooling for the job and timing of delivery and return to minimize cost
• Analyze rental equipment
o Knowledge of return dates and billing cycles
o On/off rent timely
o Negotiate credits for downed equipment
• Review rental and repair invoices for accuracy. Have a questioning attitude on repair invoices and negotiate credits when needed.
• Review and monitor work orders from conception to completion
• Keep time for Mechanic and Heavy Haul driver
• Responsible for getting Permits for Heavy Haul driver to haul oversize loads
• Plan hauling schedule for equipment from job to job and rental pickups and returns
• Be knowledgeable in equipment specs for lift plans, posted road travel, bridge crossings, etc
• Coordinate & track annual inspections, DOT requirements, di-electric test reports, repairs, etc.
• Install and track GPS devices on equipment
• Identify preferred providers
• Negotiate rates and terms
• Prepares reports
• Assist with other duties as necessary as required
• Work closely with operations, field CMs, PMs, Foremen, and office team
• Job will be based out of (Brookhaven, MS), (Houma, LA), or (Rockwall, TX) and require travel 25- 50%/month from base. During any Storm restoration work, travel requirements could be more. • Salary is based upon experience. Benefits include health, vision, dental, long/short term disability, life insurance and 401K.

Preferred Skills:

• Preferred experience with heavy construction equipment: Cranes, dozers, wheel loaders, haul trucks, lowboy trailers, bucket trucks, digger derrick trucks, 10k forklift, etc.
• Strong in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, etc.)
• Working knowledge of Fleet Management & ERP systems. ie. ARI, Timberline, View Point, Asset Works, or similar
• Prior experience with large diverse fleet preferred
• Construction and/or Utility equipment experience preferred
• Knowledge of DOT requirements
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, must be able to communicate effectively through all levels of the organization
