Software Developer - Deployed Products & Services

Wolfram, creator of Mathematica, Wolfram|Alpha and the Wolfram Language, is seeking a Software Developer to join its Document & Media Systems team. This Software Developer will have the opportunity to use the entire Wolfram technology stack to build full user-facing projects, including websites, content distribution systems and Wolfram Language interfaces. This entails working with many departments and development teams for the Wolfram Language, Wolfram Notebooks, the Wolfram Cloud and Wolfram|Alpha, as well as working with the content management, graphic design and quality assurance teams.
Responsibilities

  • Designing and implementing new Wolfram Language functions for education, courseware, questions and assessments
  • Creating client code for interfacing with deployed services
  • Developing services to run in the Wolfram Cloud
  • Maintaining and improving existing deployed products and services
  • Working with Wolfram development teams to find ways to improve our technology
  • Troubleshooting and maintaining existing products and services
  • Working with internal domain experts and content teams to design great products
  • Writing internal and external technical documentation
  • Maintaining awareness of industry standards and innovations

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, math, physics or a related technical or quantitative field
  • Experience with the Wolfram Language
  • Ability to handle multiple projects
  • Ability and willingness to learn, create and integrate new systems

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with Wolfram Cloud and Wolfram Notebook development
  • Experience with Git
  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Familiarity with cloud computing
