LPN Crisis Stabilization Unit - Full Time

Eliot's Community Crisis Stabilization provides assessment and treatment delivering short term 24 hour treatment for adults in a structured and supportive environment. CCS provides person-centered stabilization and support of individuals in psychiatric distress in the least restrictive environment. Access to the CCS Program is provided through Eliot’s Emergency Psychiatric Services.
 
Eliot is seeking a licensed LPN who is competent in medication administration and crisis intervention. Our ideal candidate will be able to tolerate and intervene with consumers during medical, behavioral and crisis situations
 
Responsibilities:
  • Assure that all service protocols for storing, administering, and destroying medications are consistent with current nursing practice and the regulations of the Department of Public Health, Food and Drug Division, Chapter 94C. 
  • Administer medications as ordered by the psychiatrist; monitor consumers for clinical/side effects and document observations for review by the psychiatrist.
  • Complete all medication administration documentation in accordance with policies and procedures of the program and Agency including transfer of physician orders, documentation of the Medication Administration records, and sample medication distribution.
  • Contact on-site or on-call psychiatrists to obtain written or verbal physicians orders for all CCS client admissions to the program.
  • Conduct and document controlled substance counts in the controlled substance logbook in compliance with applicable regulations and policy.
  • Conduct medical monitoring protocols (i.e., pulse and blood pressure) according to service protocols and/or physician orders.
  • Collaborate with prescribing psychiatrists and/or physicians in the community to ensure coordinated treatment planning and continuity of medical care.
 
Qualifications:
  •  Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse in Massachusetts; graduated from an approved program by the board of Nursing with a minimum of two years of experience in nursing in a psychiatric service.
  • Excellent written and organizational skills.
  • Computer literacy and skill in the use of computers and related software applications. A
  • Must be proficient in English and possess and convey effective verbal and written communication skills with clients, staff and service providers.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment and effective, solution focused, problem solving skills. Ability to relate easily to others on an individual basis and in a group.
  • Ability to provide direction and consumer support during a crisis situation. 
  • Must be able to assist consumers in personal hygiene and ADL activities.
  • Must be able to tolerate and intervene with consumers during medical, behavioral and crisis situations. 

Schedules Available: Monday-Friday 3pm-11p

Day -$27.00/hr. - Full time $56,160.00
 
Evening/weekend -$29.00/hr. - Full time $60,320.00
 
Weekend overnight- $31.00/hr. - Full time $64,480.00
