Social Worker (LCSW)

This position is at our Cancer Services building on Lobdell Ave. in Baton Rouge

This position requires LCSW 
Scope:
This position is responsible for Adult Services Coordination: Responsible for creating, developing, providing and maintaining supportive, therapeutic programs for adult cancer survivors and their family members at Cancer Services
Functions:  
  1. Group/Client Interactions including support groups 
  2. Program Development: engaging cancer survivors, managing & promoting adult programs; collaborate with Child & Family services coordinator on special events
  3. Referrals & individual/family counseling: initiating contact with new clients, communicating with treatment facility navigators, and conducting assessments & psychosocial screenings on clients
Qualifications:  
  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Sociology, Counseling, or Psychology required
  • LCSW required
  • Minimum 2 years of social work/counseling experience
  • 1 year of oncology social work experience strongly preferred

  • Analytical skills to gather & summarize information for planning and development
  • Excellent verbal & written skills
  • Organizational skills needed
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, think independently, take initiative and meet deadlines
  • Must be attentive to details in composing, typing and proofing materials
