Construction Representative
Construction Representative – East Lansing, Michigan
Benesch is hiring a Construction Representative to join our talented Michigan team. This is an entry-level position reporting to the Resident Project Manager. As a Construction Representative, you will be responsible for the daily inspection and documentation of MDOT infrastructure projects including road, water main, and sewer construction.
Explore the A/E/C industry by working side-by-side with industry professionals on real-world projects while receiving the training, resources, and support to develop a well-rounded set of skills.
What you will do:
- Perform construction observation of construction activities.
- Maintain a field book following project procedures.
- Perform measurements of construction work performed and quantity calculations of pay items.
- Prepare Inspector’s Daily Reports and other project documentation as required by the project procedures and as directed by the Supervisor or Project Manager.
What You Will Need:
- BS in Civil or Construction Engineering or a related engineering curriculum is required. EIT is a plus
- 0-2 years of intern experience with Michigan DOT/Federal Aid Local Agency is preferred
- Experience working on field projects desired
- Experience utilizing ArcGIS, Microstation, Geopak, and/or AutoCAD is desirable
- Excellent communication and intrapersonal skills
- Strong organization and ability to perform services efficiently and within budgets and schedules
- Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment
- Good driving record and valid driver's license
