Manager, Graphic Design
Description:
Plans, develops, and manages the conceptualization, organization, design, and production of multifaceted print, publishing, video graphic, and collateral material for systemwide curriculum and public information requirements; manages multiple design projects simultaneously ensuring on time delivery; preserves the established brand image and standards for Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) and promotes the brand through strategic graphic design.
Qualifications:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation a bachelor's degree in media communications, graphic design, digital media, interaction design, or a related field. Five years of progressively more responsible experience in the production of digital media, graphic design, or related field, some of which shall have been with oversight or supervisory responsibilities. May require work on evenings, holidays, and weekends. Knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of multimedia design and production. Knowledge of and technical expertise in the use of high-end digital design workstations and professional design software. Knowledge of copyright and fair use state and federal laws and regulations to ensure that graphic design products meet legal standards. Skilled in design principles, typography, illustration, layout, and electronic media. Ability to work effectively under pressure, multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and meet tight deadlines. Ability to manage and supervise personnel and resources. Ability to effectively lead teams in multiple projects. Ability to facilitate meetings and/or present information to groups. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with elected officials, community members, parents, and staff. Proficiency in the use of technology and data compilation, analysis, and reporting. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Salary Range: $74,408 - $121,702 per year
