Safety Assurance Specialist
SUMMARY:
The Safety Assurance (SA) Specialist is the focal point for all internal and external auditing/evaluation functions. Beyond organizing and coordinating, the SA Specialist will serve as an auditor/evaluator to execute evaluations and department audits. Additionally, the SA Specialist is responsible for creating, maintaining, and coordinating safety training and promotional materials. The SA Specialist may need to travel and reports to the Director of Safety.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Coordinate and Execute company Internal Evaluation Program (IEP)
o Develop annual evaluation schedule in collaboration with DOS
o Create/maintain evaluation materials (checklists, forms, etc.)
o Execute evaluations according to evaluation schedule as a company Evaluator
o Track findings and corrections to closure
· Serve as company Auditor
o Assist departments with enhancing their Internal Audit Programs (IAP)
o Assist departments with performing audits for their IAP
· Coordinate External/Codeshare Audits
o Facilitate partner, industry and regulatory audits
o Collaborate with department leaders on audit preparation, execution and closure
· Create and Coordinate Safety Promotion Materials
o Create and disseminate written safety communications
o Collaborate with department leaders on developing safety promotional materials (posters, videos, etc.)
o Create and maintain safety training curriculum and modules
o Develop safety recognition/rewards program
· Assist the Director of Safety (DOS) and respective teams on accident/incident investigations
· Assist with reviewing, maintaining, and testing the company’s emergency response plan
· Work on special teams as required
· Additional duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2 years of aviation/airline experience highly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
- Working knowledge of aviation terminology required
- Experience with airline operations highly preferred
· Excellent written and oral communication skills required
· Excellent computer skills and MS Office proficiency required
- Well organized and exhibits time and task management skills required
· Able to interact with leaders at all levels to accomplish objectives, required
· Completed auditor training or equivalent auditing experience, preferred
· Private pilot or Dispatch license highly preferred
- Working knowledge of aviation safety programs preferred
· Web Based Analytical Technology (WBAT) experience preferred
· Must exhibit exceptional knowledge of Cape Air and must embody the Cape Air MOCHA HAGoTDI spirit
