Job & Event Description

Are you a current undergraduate student who is passionate about diversity, equity and inclusion? Are you looking for a Consumer Sensory Insights Internship role? If you've got an appetite for an exciting career, apply now for Nestlé's 2022 Virtual Diversity Leadership Symposium (DLS)! It's a three-day, professional development and hiring event, taking place from August 9-11, 2022, for college students of diverse backgrounds! If selected to participate in the symposium, you will learn about Nestle’s wining culture, network with peers & current Nestlé employees, and interview for our 2023 Consumer Sensory Insights Internship! 
What to expect from the 2022 Diversity Leadership Symposium:
  • Gain valuable exposure to life and careers at Nestlé and discover how a diverse and inclusive environment fuels career growth
  • Network with business leaders and develop relationships with peers from universities across the nation while participating in hands-on culinary experiences
  • Interview for our 2023 Consumer Sensory Insights Internship, with a chance to return to school with a job offer in hand


Primary Responsibilities:
​​​
  • Collaborate with and function as a part of the Sensory Team to support and/or lead appropriate testing including the design, planning, set-up, data analysis and reporting phases.
  • Assist with the design and implementation of technical tasting and consumer research
  • Support the documentation and development of protocols for Sensory tools and methods
  • Support the development of new Sensory tools and methods
  • Work on independent research projects per the specific needs of the group
 
Length of Internship and Hours:  6 Months (Starting dates flexible, ideally in either Jan/Feb 2023 or May/June 2023)
Full-time 40 hrs/week with some overtime


REQUIREMENTS:
MS or PhD candidates in Food Science with a Sensory emphasis preferred. BS students with strong sensory evaluation skills will be considered.
EXPERIENCE:
  • Course work and/or internships in Sensory a plus
  • Ability to consider and apply appropriate principles of Sensory Science in practice.
  • Citation and application of statistical analysis principles relevant to Sensory methods employed.
  • Use of statistical software 
  • Writing, presentation, and communication skills
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Proactive cooperation, results focus, courage, initiative
  • Project management skills and ability to communicate regarding sensory research results
