McKenney's Inc. voted one of Atlanta and Charlotte's BEST PLACES TO WORK is seeking Engineering and Construction Management Majors for our Charlotte, NC location who are interested in the construction industry.
WHY CO-OP WITH US?
Do you thrive on building things? Do you have an entrepreneurial spirit? If you have answered yes, this is the Co-op position that you’re looking for. McKenney's Inc has a long history of success in hiring Co-ops. Many of our current leaders started in the Co-op program. The Co-ops work in a collaborative team environment under the leadership of the Project Managers and perform duties similar to those of an Assistant PM while transforming the skyline and existing spaces within the Southeast.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The responsibilities and job skills learned are primarily dependent upon the individual Co-op's drive, determination, and ability to learn and function on a multi-disciplinary project team. A successful Co-op will learn how to estimate projects and write proposals. They will work directly with vendors to purchase material and equipment. Additionally they will support the Field Foreman and customer needs through scheduling and site logistics management. Co-ops are responsible for obtaining permits, assembling submittal and the operating and maintenance manual. The Co-op will interface directly with the Field Foremen of McKenney’s as well as those of the General Contractors and other subcontractors to resolve problems and remove obstacles (construct ability and design issues). Experienced, successful Co-ops have run jobs from inception, through construction and final job closeout, under the guidance of their PM.
