Aon Is Looking For a Retirement Actuary - Student Associate:

Location: Cleveland or Columbus.
 
Pension and other retirement plans have enormous financial implications for employers. Actuaries within Retirement Consulting work directly with our clients’ management teams to assess the short and long-term costs associated with these commitments. As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions supporting our Retirement Consulting group in our Cleveland, OH or Columbus, OH office.
 
Your Impact as a Retirement Actuary – Student Associate
 
Job Responsibilities:
  • Pass actuarial exams (minimal requirement of one course per year)
  • Annual pension valuations under supervision of actuary. Each year, actuaries collect census data from the clients and perform the annual valuation. With the results of these valuations, we help our clients assess the ongoing financial health of their pension plans and other postretirement plans.
  • Projections (both stochastic and deterministic) of long-term financial information for pension and other postretirement plans
  • Manage and meet all project deadlines 
  • Design and costing of new retirement programs
  • Union negotiation support and analysis
  • Quantitative comparisons of comprehensive employee benefit programs for employers
Required Experience:
  • 1+ year of actuarial work
  • Completion of at least one actuarial exam
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office products such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
Preferred Experience:
  • Valuation programming system knowledge such as ProVal
  • Basic knowledge of pension accounting
  • Basic knowledge of minimum funding calculations

  • Outstanding quantitative and analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Enjoy working on complex, mathematically-oriented projects 
 Education:

  • Bachelors Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Economics or Statistics or similar field with GPA of 3.0 or higher
